Elaine Marie Welteroth is an editor, journalist, and New York Times best-selling author of her memoir, “More Than Enough: Claiming space for who you are (no matter what they say). Her book was written to inspire others to learn about what it means to come into your own – on your own terms.
Born in Newark, California near San Jose, Elaine grew up in Fremont. She competed in track and field in high school, and graduated from California State University in Sacramento, majoring in mass communication and media studies. Her minor is in journalism.
Elaine is amazing and multitalented. She was a judge on Project Runway and has written for the hit television show Grown-ish. She has worked on Teen Vogue, Glamour, and Ebony.
Elaine is a trailblazer as she was the youngest editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue at Conde Nast. Her promotion also made her the second African-American to ever be an editor-in-chief in the publishing company.
She is also an activist interested in politics and social issues where she has supported many causes ranging from the Women’s March on Washington to the initiative for stricter gun control.
Elaine now lives in Brooklyn, New York where she is engaged to musician Jonathan Singletary.
